Creating an accounting transaction

Myrentcar offers several methods for creating accounting transactions and entries:

  •  The first is by clicking directly on the button after displaying a journal entry (see above).
  • This adds a new entry line to an existing entry. This allows you to add an entry to a journal which has already been selected.

  • The second is to click on the button at the bottom of an existing transaction form.
  • This method opens a new window, allowing you to create a new entry. The journal chosen at the start will be the default journal on the new entry interface.
  • All that remains to be done is to perform the same operation as in the first method for entry lines.

For information, to add values to each field in the table, click on the field to be used and choose a value option.

  • This column is added automatically to count the number of writing lines. It is also used to filter lines in ascending or descending order.
  • By clicking on one of the fields in the column, a magnifying glass appears to search for the account number to be used.

After clicking, a new window appears to search for the particular account number.

By clicking on the "Search" button, all existing accounts will appear in the window.

  • This column is used to add the date of the entry. The fields in this column are automatically filled with the current date. (If you are adding a line to an existing entry, the date taken by myrentcar will be the date of the previous entry).
  • This column is used to search for an account by its document number.
  • This column is used to add a label for each entry line.
  • This column is used to add the debit amount.
  • This column is used to add the credit amount.
  • This column is used to indicate the due date of the entry for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • This column is used to add a piece of lettering.
  • This column indicates whether the entry has already been lettered.
  • This column is used to insert the VAT rate for the entry.
  • This column shows the name of each account used.

Once the entry lines have been inserted, click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen to save the entry.

A transaction will only be validated if its balance (shown in the block at the top right of the screen) is equal to zero.
