Introduction and requirements for myrentpad

Myrentpad is a mobile vehicle inspection app designed for iOS and Android, simplifying the process of vehicle check-in and check-out inspections.

Important: This documentation pertains to the myrentpad module, not rentpad. The myrentpad app is an add-on module that requires migration. Request your myrentpad demonstration here.

With myrentpad, you can quickly and accurately record the condition of vehicles at the start and end of a rental period. The app generates a detailed PDF report that can be emailed to clients, providing a clear record of the vehicle's condition.

The application also supports electronic signature for rental agreements, initiated from myrentcar.

System requirements:

Device: Compatible with smartphones and tablets

Operating system:

  • Android: Minimum version 8
  • iOS: Minimum version 15.5

For optimal performance, ensure your device is updated to the latest operating system version.

Additional Software:
A configuration tool (rentpadconfig) is provided as an executable file (.exe). This tool can be installed on a computer to configure the myrentpad application.

Installation and initial setup of myrentpad

Myrentpad is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It must be installed on each mobile device and paired with the myrentcar application, which is required for its operation.

Your hitech technician or trainer will have already configured the number of authorized licenses for myrentpad in myrentcar, enabling the pairing process.

Setting a PIN Code

Each myrentpad user must first set a PIN code from their account within the myrentcar application.

The PIN code, composed exclusively of numbers, allows users to quickly and easily identify themselves for vehicle check-in and check-out processes using myrentpad.

Device management in myrentcar

The Backoffice of myrentcar includes a dedicated section for managing myrentpad.

The menu provides a list of all active and inactive devices and allows you to generate and send emails containing pairing information for new devices to be added (subject to the number of subscribed licenses).

To begin pairing a new device, you will find a "Generate QR Code" button at the bottom of the screen.

Clicking this button opens a pop-up window displaying a QR code along with the pairing information required for the device (embedded in the QR code). The user can then:

  • Pair the device directly by scanning the QR code.
  • Send an email containing the pairing information to the designated user, allowing them to pair their device independently.

Note: From this menu, you can manage devices using licenses and deactivate them if needed.

First Launch of myrentpad and pairing

First, download myrentpad from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and install it.

When launching myrentpad for the first time, a window will appear with the following options:

  • Add: Allows you to scan a QR code directly to import the company's configuration.
  • Manual: Opens a window where you can manually enter the required configuration data received via email (use this if QR code scanning is not possible).

Once the configuration is imported, you can select one or more agencies to synchronize.
